Agritechnica 2025: Smart, sustainable, and just weeks away

Nearly 1 in every 7 foreign visitors were from the Netherlands at the last exhibition

With just weeks to go before Agritechnica 2025 opens its doors on Sunday, 9 November, anticipation is building across the global agricultural machinery sector. Held at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds, Germany, until Saturday, 15 November, the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural technology is set to welcome 430,000 visitors and 2,700 exhibitors from over 50 countries, making it a truly international meeting hub.

As both a reflection of current trends and a driver of future developments, the world’s leading trade fair showcases the full spectrum of agricultural machinery, from smart tractors and digital farm management systems to resource-efficient solutions in soil cultivation and crop protection. At the same time, the exhibition opens up new perspectives into emerging technologies.

This year’s guiding theme, “Touch Smart Efficiency,” reflects the industry’s focus on digitalization, sustainability, and productivity. Agritechnica 2025 will showcase how smart farming technologies—from autonomous tractors to AI-driven crop management systems—are shaping the future of agriculture. The new Digital Farm Center in Hall 21 will be a focal point, offering live demonstrations and hands-on experiences with automation, robotics, and data exchange between machines.

A feature this year is the “7 Days – 7 Topics” format, with each day tailored to specific professional groups. The week kicks off with the Innovation and Press Day on Sunday, followed by Agribusiness Days on Monday and Tuesday, targeting dealers, contractors, and large-scale farms. International Farmers Day on Wednesday will spotlight Canada, the Czech Republic, and France, while Digital Farm Day on Thursday dives deep into smart farming solutions. Friday is dedicated to the next generation with Young Professionals Day and the popular Young Farmers Party, and Saturday wraps up the event with Celebrate Farming, a festive tribute to agricultural innovation.

Agritechnica’s technical program is equally impressive, featuring 400 speakers across five DLG Expert Stages, three DLG Spotlights, and a series of Pop-Up Talks. Topics range from soil health and digital farming to maintenance and repair demonstrations in the “Workshop Live” area. The agrifood start-up zone will serve as an incubator for emerging technologies, while the Systems & Components exhibition in Halls 15–17 offers a B2B marketplace for suppliers and engineers.

The fair also hosts prestigious awards, including the Innovation Award Agritechnica, the Systems & Components Trophy – Engineers’ Choice, and the DLG-Agrifuture Concept Winner, recognizing both market-ready solutions and visionary concepts.

International networking is a cornerstone of Agritechnica. The International Dealer Center in Hall 2 and a new Business Matchmaking service will facilitate connections between exhibitors and dealers. Meanwhile, the International Visitors’ Lounge in Hall 24 provides a central meeting point for global guests.

Among the top five countries represented by both exhibitors and visitors is the Netherlands, with more than 110 Dutch exhibitors confirmed. Dutch visitors also make up a significant portion of the international audience—nearly 1 in every 7 foreign visitors were from the Netherlands at the last exhibition, highlighting the country’s strong engagement with agricultural innovation and trade. Agritechnica thus serves as a vital platform for Dutch professionals to connect, collaborate, and showcase their expertise.

For young professionals, Agritechnica offers career-building opportunities through formats like Young Farmers Connect and the Science Campus, which features research projects and academic programs. Even gaming enthusiasts will find something to enjoy, with the Farming Simulator Championship returning for its third edition.

Organized by the DLG (German Agricultural Society), Agritechnica continues to set milestones for sustainable productivity growth. With its blend of cutting-edge technology, global networking, and forward-thinking formats, Agritechnica 2025 promises to be more than just a trade fair—it’s a vision of agriculture’s future.
